Types of triangle

By AAGBAAH on November 16, 1998:

What is an equilateral triangle and what is an isosceles triangle. Also what do they look like. Thank you.

By Gordon Lee on November 24, 1998:

An equilateral triangle is one with all sides equal. Hence they have all three angles equal to 60 degrees.

An isosceles triangle is one with two equal sides and hence with two angles the same.

For completeness, you should know that if none of the sides are equal, the triangle is a scalene triangle.
